Only has 14 triggers, you must run 16, it's not optional. I've thought about the hybrid Maelstrom/Thavas decks myself (and ran it pre-GBT13). Unfortunately lordly and Engulf aren't very friendly with the Thavas strides since it's on stride can't work. Its GB2 can still work and I could see it racking up with the Thavas rear guards draw power but its a massive use of CB and doesn't get you much over all. I suggest going for a pure Blue Storm deck (With 'generic' support). Commander Thavas is unneeded in the deck aswell now since Engulf can flip up Galfilia for the Link Joker match up. It's a shame Thavas' rear guards are so much better Dinos in particular is something I d love for Maelstrom :(

Thanks for your comment! In fact,I forgot to save after edited. That's why there are only 14 triggers lol. In my viewpoint for this deck, lordly's main profit is the gb2 skill. It can bring some resources advantage I need every turn(specially on first stride). The stride skill is only a support on this deck. And Engulf is also not the first target here(used to block g0-1only),but still a great threats for opponent when he didn't have enough g guard. Than talk about Thavas g3,I use he not only because the rg skill, but also to correspond narukami or kagero,I can change the playstyle to use less cards but surely make effective attacks and avoid the hinder from opponent'g guards. On rearguards...you are right, some Thavas rg is not suitable for this deck afetr testing,so I change some cards, thanks. Because of the g2 10000 and lordly, the soul problem of wave system have a little solve, that's why i chose lots of sb cards like Dinos. I try to build this just wants to combined the advantage of these two systems and make it more flexible.last, sorry about that my english is not really well, but it's happy to communicate with player from another contry:)
