Shiranui... GYZE (Post GBT-14) First update

by Blmastooner

Wow, I could not believe how boring plain Shiranui is.
I wanted something more. Something that would make my opponent go "Oh my days, you didn't just go into Rinne this time!"
This is Shiranui Gyze. Though, as you can see, Gyze isn't in the Stride deck, and neither is (at least) 5 Zeroth Dragons.
This deck focuses on basically trying to get Tenrei out onto the field to Ultimate Stride into whatever nation the opponent is playing... Which is really easy because Zanki allows you to save Tenrei in hand until the beginning of the ride phase.

The deck looks like this because of the following reasons:
Burai as the starter, because he gives me both a draw (to pay for him going into the soul), and a target to dominate when I ride into Zanki.
Neon Gyze in the main deck only to be able to run the non Dragon Nation ZRs.
4 Basara heals because this deck has both a soul, and a counterblast issue. Basara helps slightly with that problem.
4 Onibidoshi (Stand that returns to deck) instead of Margal clone because it is an Ultima target.
4 Noroi b/c Noroi is Shiranui crit, and we need the soul to do more stuff.
4 Torasada because she both counter charges, and soul charges herself
3 Tenrei both so that I can stride into the other ZRs, and because Tenrei gives my Vanguard the names of the opponent's Vanguard, I can proc name-specific Rear Guard skills when I dominate them.
2 Danuki because imo, the Danuki x Metsu relationship is great for building up advantage quickly. Danuki can either generate more options for Metsu to pick up, or soul charge for you to use later for either Zanki, Mukuro, or Gehourakan's skill.
2 Tengai because I think I have an obsession with counter charging.
4 Stride Fodder Katarigitsune to... well... stride.
4 Counter Charge PG to... counter charge.
4 Metsu for the Danuki plays
3 Enbai because Enbai basically outclasses Fuurai by gaining more power quicker, and because I don't run anything that dominates during the main phase (Maguntenbu), so Fuurai's "Call from drop" skill isn't used fully.
4 Sadatsugu because like Enbai, he outclasses an older card, Genkai, by being able to both draw for the cost of only 1 Counterblast (Genkai uses 1 CB/1 SB), and still gains the 2k when he's attacking the Vanguard, and can retire dominated units after they attack.
4 Zanki, the main G3 to dominate stuff
2 Oboro mainly because I didn't like the art style of the other G3s
4 Rinne because we still need a consistent win condition.
1 Mukuro b/c drive checking 5 times is cool. Are we Angel Feather cool? No.
1 Tsukumorakan because decks like Luard can get Jebaited when they feel like they're on the top of the world with 14 cards before feeling like garbage when that massive hand turns to 4.
Dust, Ultima, and Stark mainly because they're the most powerful.
I see no reason for Zoa, Megiddo, or Drachma because to me, they're more like Emergency Buttons than anything. Shame. Moegiddo was gonna be pretty cool.
Sebreeze because punishment, and to proc off Zanki as well to punish them even more. Sebreeze will be taken out once the new rulings come into effect in May, and will be replaced with Moegiddo because I'm going to be buying Moegiddo regardless, and because I don't want to buy Drachma.
Dizmel because Resist is cool
Ractome because filtering is cool
Zashikihime because she punishes the opponent for attacking which is both a plus whether or not the opponent discards.
Gandokurakan because free shield is pretty nice
2 Gehourakan because taking G1s that do stuff at the end of battle is pretty cool.

Anyways, I hate this deck.
